    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: ArthurBurch308 Surnames: BURCH, MAY, MILLICAN, MATLOCK, WHALEY, GILLESPIE Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.burch/2193.3.4/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I just noticed this query (after my earlier reply). To continue: Elijah BURCH and Phoebe MAY had 9 children. Their 4th child was Malinda BURCH, born 11.1826 in IN. Malinda married Charles MILLICAN abt 1856 and they had 2 children. Your other GGGrandmother, Cynthia BURCH was born abt 1836, the 5th child of Barnabus BURCH and M. MAY, who were married on 4/18/1839 in Scott Co., IL. Cynthia married Henry MATLOCK abt 1866 in Texas. Barnabus BURCH was born abt 1798 in Surry Co., NC, and died 10/19/1862 in Gainesville, TX. He was the son of James Phillip BURCH and Sarah WHALEY. My info indicates that J.P. BURCH was married twice: Sarah WHALEY (1 child) and Sarah GILLESPIE (9 children), but since both these wives were named Sarah, I wonder if they might actually be the same person? As I'm researching only BURCH descendants, I don't have any further info regarding your MILLICAN or MATLOCK relatives. Hope this helps you, but feel free to contact me if you need further info. Not exactly sure what you need, but briefly: William Henry BURCH, Sr. was born abt 1740 in Caroline Co., VA, and died abt 1816 in Surry Co., NC. W.H. BURCH married Mary Ann LAWRENCE abt 1763 in NC, and they had 13 children. Their 9th child was James Phillip BURCH, born 10/14/1777 in Surry Co., NC, and died 12/14/1855 in Greene Co., IN. J.P. BURCH married Sarah GILLESPIE on 6/25/1801 in Surry Co., NC, and they had 9 children. Their 1st child was Elijah BURCH, born 12/23/1802 in Surry Co., NC, and died 12/1863 in Bosque Co., TX. Elijah married Phoebe MAY 5/29/1823 in Greene Co., IN, and they had 9 children. My "Tree" for this family begins with Thomas BURCH in 1665 England, includes 10 generations of his descendants, and over 150 pages of info ... too much to include here. Author: VickiGowen Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.burch/83.282/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Barb, I am part of that clan of Burch's you are looking for, just unfortunately, the wrong side of the clan. My grandmother, Mabel Dahm (Swanson) was the sister to Helen Dahm who married Jessie Pratt of Milan, WA. Jessie's mother was a Burch, I believe. Jessie and Helen Pratt had two daughters, Lorraine and Delores. Delores married Cecil Blake and they had several children, all boys, i think. They all still reside in the Elk/Chattaroy/Milan/Colbert area. Lorraine married and moved out of the area. I believe she was married a couple times, but unclear without all my research notes available as I write this. Lorraine had two or three children, however, none of them moved back in area that I am aware of. One of Lorraine's daughters was a Jessie who married a 'Miles' (or was that Lorraine??), then a 'Valentine' and is remarried again, I think. This in no way helps you with the hunt that you are doing, but it does give you a few more names to research for connections when you go to the Census and Death records, etc. Good hunting! Author: ArthurBurch308 Surnames: BURCH, FUCHS, ALTHOFF Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.burch/2207.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I don't know whether we have a connection or not, but I would like to know more about these people. My Grandfather's name was Enoch BURCH and he married Anna Marie FUCHS in St. Louis in 1886. Enoch had a brother, William BURCH, who married Emma Anna ALTHOFF in St. Louis in 1890. I've been researching our lineage for many years, but have never been able to learn identities of their parents, or any possible siblings. My research seems to indicate that their parents were born in West Virginia or Virginia. As I haven't had any success with the "standard" methods for research, I'm in the process of trying to identify and trace ancestry of all the BURCH's I can locate in Missouri. I would be happy to check my database, to see if I have any info about your relatives. In case I don't already have them, I would be happy to add them, and use my resources to help you.
