    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: jameswburch Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.burch/1323.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: When my family moved from Utah to Idaho about ten years ago, I put most of my belongings into long-term storage, including all of my genealogy records. My recollection is that I did not have information on Increase Burch's father (I have seen Jeremiah Burch identified at various sites on the internet as Increase's father), but I won't know that until I can get into my files (which should be in a few months). Your information regarding the two brothers who died in the Civil War is more detailed, yet consistent, with the information that I had (which I believe came from a Missouri historical book's discussion of the Burch family). I will be happy to share with you whatever information I have. If you could send me any material and/or pictures for the Pike County, Iowa Burches, that would be appreciated. There are Burches living in Brookfield, Missouri (my Dad's hometown), who are descendents of James W. Burch, the brother of Samuel Burch. Samuel and James were John Burch'! s sons. It would be interesting to know what family information, if any, they might have, since Increase was the father of brothers John and Thomas. My email address is jameswburch@hotmail.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: marqwalker56 Surnames: Burch Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.burch/1323.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, Yes, I am still looking for additional information on Increase Burch. My records show he had sons Martin, John, Thomas, Ira and Enos. John, Thomas and Enos all served in the Civil War, with Thomas perishing in the infamous Andersonville prison, and Enos dying of his wounds. Thomas is my gr-gr-gr-grandfather. I did find John Burch's civil war pic on the internet, what a great find! I have a fair amount of documents on the Pike County Burches, but I have never been able to find who Increase Burch's father is. The Mormon records show that his father is Richard Burch, but I've never been able to pin that down. I would be happy to share what I have with you. Do you have any additional information about our Increase Burch or his family? Marq Walker Harrison, Arkansas Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: jameswburch Surnames: Burch Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.burch/1323.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Are you still trying to get information about Increase Burch? I am virtually certain that he is a direct ancestor of mine. He had a number of brothers (Martin being one, I think, as indicated in a previous reply to your post) that can be traced back to Onondaga County, New York. I believe that he also had a son named John Burch in Pike County, Indiana. John was a Union officer in the Civil War. I have a picture of him in uniform. He moved to north central Missouri and died there. Some of his descendants still live in the same general area (specifically, Brookfield, Missouri).
