Feb 14, 1813 KY, d. Nov 26, 1892 TX, had a son: James Burch, b. Oct 12, 1847, d. May 20, 1898, married Emma T. Fulton. They had children: Valentine Burch, b. Apr 20, 1873; Mary Ann Burch, b. Feb 27, 1878, mar. Henry T. Lavelle; Joseph Leo Burch, b. Nov 10, 1882, mar. Sarah Jane Willis; James Otto Burch, b. 1884. I wish I could help but I don't have a lot of details on the James Burch family. I've never heard of the name Laneson, being used in the Burch family before. I was searching through Ancestry.com - I'm not a paid member but am a contributor to my friend's subscription. I noticed the database of French/Burch/Hagg Family, and I saw the photo of what looks to be a young Valentine Ignatius Burch, b. Feb 14, 1813. I am surprised to see that photo as I would think that photography would not have been invented at the time when Valentine Burch, might have looked that young. Also, do you have any additional information concerning the Veterans photo on this site, that shows Valentine Burch? Valentine's brother, James Burch, who is my g-g-grandfather, is probably in this photo too, as they fought side by side. I would like to know if names, have been written on the back of this photo to identify the men in the photo. As to the children of Samuel Lewis Burch and Dorothea Brown, as listed in the French/Burch/Hagg Family, all of them would have been born before January of 1836, in Kentucky. Samuel and Dorothea Brown Burch, sold their KY lands in October of 1835, then came to TX. They may have arrived in December of 1835 in TX. Samuel and Dorothea had 9 children: Valentine Ignatius, Anne, James, Matilda, Catherine, Benedict John, Dorothea, Samuel Lewis Jr. and William H. Burch. I noticed that you refer to a Laneson V. Burch. I wondered if he was really named Lawson Valentine Burch - Lawson, because his mother's father was Robert Lawson Fulton. I think he may be a man we know as Charley F. Burch Jr. If it is the same man, then he was a distant cousin of mine. Our Charlie had 8 wives and after that he just lived with them for a while then got another partner. I dont know all of the wives nor children, but there were many. I did not know him to live in Eagle Pass, although he was all around that part of Texas. Our Charlie F never owned much of anything, certainly not any oil wells, though he may have worked in the Oil Fields, as did my father. If any of this is of interest to you, let me hear from you. I have the Burch history back to 1744, including data on his parents and siblings.
