Was wondering if anyone would have information on the ancestors of Herman T. Burch, born 1816 in New York state. Other possible first name spellings: Hermon or Harmon. Married: March 18, 1841, Delaware Co, Ohio, to Alvira Benedict. Died: July 24, 1867, in Ohio. Had a son Adroyal Burch, 1843-1918, also in central Ohio. Also looking for info on Herman's wife, Alvira Benedict, born: August, 1815 in New York, died: July 24, 1867, Westfield, Ohio. Thanks in advance for any information or comments. Ken Burch
I'd be grateful for any information about the family of John Ryan and Sarah Burch who were married 28 July 1812 Jessamine County KY. Sarah was most likely the sister of John Burch, the surety for her marriage. Many thanks for your help, and best wishes to you. I saw an entry on Worldconnect on a Nicodemus Burch who married Mary Homan in 1804. I tried to e-mail the submitter but the e-mail was returned. I think this may be the parents of my John Burch who was b. in VA ca 1811 and later lived in IL and IA. Would like to talk to the submitter, Dennis Burch, or anyone else who has information on this family. Thanks. Eileen [email protected]

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Ruby FLETCHER HOIT taken at the Weston Studio in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine. I believe this is a photograph of Ruby M. FLETCHER b. 11 May 1874 at Dixmont, Penobscot, Maine at 18 years of age taken in 1892 just prior to her 17 Aug 1895 marriage to Charles B. HOIT of Dixmont, Penobscot, Maine. Ruby M. FLETCHER's parents were Pillsbury C. FLETCHER and Hellen M. BURCH. On the reverse of the photograph is written the name "Mrs. Fred PARSONS" which may refer to Gertie E. FLETCHER who married Fred M. PARSONS in Civil, Penobscot, Maine on 1 Mar 1888. I'm assuming that this is a FLETCHER relative of Ruby's who was given the photograph, maybe Ruby's aunt or cousin. Not sure there is a connection, however, I also obtained a photograph of Mrs. Frances HALEY taken in Portland, Maine from the same source. I mention it just in case there is a recognized connection between these family names. I'm hoping to find Ruby's family and return the photograph to the family so that it can once again become the cherished family possession that it should be, however, to date I've been unable to locate any family. If you are a member of this family or know someone that might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Burch in Montrose County CO. I was down at the Denver Public Library yesterday for a few minutes and looked for possible obituaries for any of those named in the Denver papers. There were none but that is not surprising, a person from Montrose would have to be very prominent to have an obit in the Denver papers. I also looked in the 1900 Soundex for CO and found no Burch families in Montrose Co. I ran out of time and did not look at the 1920 Soundex (I don't think they have the 1910 although I could be mistaken - I was in a hurry). The Soundex Code is B620. Ann Andersen
