Recently Bette Richards notified us on this site about the MA bill regarding cutting off access to their Vital Records. At the same time, California was undergoing the same problem. At that time, genealogy societies rallied around but could not kill the bill - instead it was passed saying just that, literally, it said nothing but that there would be "further amendments". Now the amendments are being added and passed - and very quickly. I am going to try to attach to this message a message from one of the concerned genealogists that should give you up t date information, along with (1) a link to a petition that you can sign (I did) and (2) the various Senators, their districts and email address where possible.
