    1. Re: Indiana Bunkers
    2. Hi, Bette. Here are a few facts on some of the Bunkers you listed. If you want more details and documentation, please let me know. George A. and Samuel G. Bunker were brothers, the sixth and seventh children, respectively, of Orlando (sometimes spelled Orlondo) L. Bunker and Hannah Jane Graham. George A. (I believe his middle name is Archmedia, but cannot get to my Legacy program right now to check as I'm listening to the Cubs via Real Audio, and the programs conflict ;-) Bunker was born 10 February 1874 in Buchanan, Berrien, Michigan. He died 9 August 1938 at Berrien County Hospital, Berrien County, Michigan, and was buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, Berrien, Michigan. George A. married (1) Edna O. Boyd 25 December 1895 at the home of brother Guy L. Bunker in Buchanan, Berrien, Michigan. They reportedly divorced in December of 1898, although I have no documentation on this at present. George A. married (2) Emma Caroline Johnson 8 April 1901 in St. Joseph, Berrien, Michigan. Emma was born 26 November 1879 in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johnson, and died 18 September 1951 at Pawating Hospital, Niles, Berrien, Michigan, with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, Berrien, Michigan. Children born to George A. & Emma C. (Johnson) Bunker were stillborn son George Bunker, Jr., 17 November 1909, and daughter Cecil Alice Bunker, 11 January 1914, who died four days later on the 15th. Your information implies that George A. and Emma C. were divorced at some point after 1909, and apparently remarried in St. Joseph County, Indiana in 1929. I have no information on either of these last two events, and neither event is mentioned in their obituaries. I would be interested in any details you might have to this end. Samuel Graham Bunker was born 9 August 1876 in Buchanan, Berrien, Michigan, and died 8 March 1947 in South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana, with burial in South Bend's Riverview Cemetery. Samuel Graham Bunker married (1) Maud Ethel Ireland in October 1901, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. Maud was reportedly born about 1881 in Scotland, although I have no documentation to this fact. Three sons were born to this marriage: Howard C. Bunker, 26 April 1905; James R. Bunker, 7 March 1907; and Charles Frederick Bunker, 22 January 1909. I have no information on whether Maud died or they were divorced after the 1909 birth. Samuel Graham Bunker married (2) Ethel Dickens. I have the marriage year as 1938, as listed in her obituary, which differs from your listing of 1935. I would be interested in details of your documentation to verify this difference. Ethel was born 12 March 1888 in Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. Riley Dickens. She died 20 January 1949 at her brother's home in Sioux City, Woodbury, Iowa, and was buried in Riverview Cemetery in South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana. I do not list any children from this marriage. I may have additional information on others listed in your email, but I'm not sure--and it's starting to thunder and lightning so I should get off my computer so I don't lose another modem! I will be glad to exchange additional information with you about the above and to provide copies of what I have if you are interested. I have more information on Orlando and Hannah Jane Bunker and descendants as they were my great-great-grandparents. Hope this helps. I will send this both directly to you and to the list--if I remember ;-) Kathy Crapo Lincoln, NE
