Last week Dick Eastman talked about a program that marks every file in a GEDCOM with the source. It was proposed for people who get upset that someone uses their data and claims credit for it. However, this week Dick reported a much better use of the program. If I receive a GEDCOM from someone and I want to merge the database with mine, I need to mark every file with the source of the GEDCOM. If there are 2,000 files that can be a real pain and may mean that I will never merge it wither my database. Using GEDmark you can mark the GEDCOM and when merged every single file will have a source of the person who sent me the GEDCOM. Now that is a great use for this program.
