Hi: I've been researching one of my family lines the last couple of days. The parents (Ernest Elmer & Fredericka Knuppel) married in Watertown, Wis. The eldest children were born in Columbus, Wis. The problem is that there are two small towns in Wisconsin named Columbus, one in Dodge Co., and the other in Columbia Co. Sadly, most of the info. published at www.familysearch.org is simply wrong. A little checking would find that the Elmer family lived in Dodge Co., and not in Columbia Co. Ernest's father was postmaster of a small town in Dodge Co. for a few years.
