    3. BLUFFTON - Byron K. Bunker, 74, Geneva, died Thursday morning at Bluffton Regional Medical Clinic. He was born June 23, 1929, in Pennville, to Frank and Lucy (Hartley) Bunker. He married Daisy Twigg on Aug. 28, 1949. She survives. Mr. Bunker was a mathematics teacher at Community Christian School, Bluffton. He had served as principal of Berne High School from 1964 to 1965, and as assistant principal of Southwood High School from 1965 to 1968. He was superintendent of Caston School Corporation, Fulton, from 1968 to 1976, until he became of South Adams School Corp. until 1993. A 1947 graduate of Pennville High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 1951. In 1956, he earned his master's degree from Ball State Teachers College and in 1965, received a Superintendent's Degree. Mr. Bunker attended Vineyard Church, Fort Wayne, where he served as an elder and was a teacher of Bible study groups. He was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association and the Indiana Superintendent's Association. Also surviving are a son, Wayne Bunker, Fort Wayne; three daughters, Mrs. Steve (Kim) Powell, Zion, Ill., Mrs. Ray (Sharon) Butcher, Peru, Mrs. Steve (Diane) Cochran, Decatur; a sister, Mrs. Floyd (Erna Gay) Troth, Lebanon; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her brother Thomas is deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at West Missionary Church, Berne, with the Rev. Tom Foster officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery, Pennville. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at West Missionary Church. Preferred memorials are to Samaritan's House, Inc. or Vineyard Church, 1518 Gardendale Ave., Fort Wayne, Ind. 46816, or to Christian Community School, 1225 W. Washington St., Bluffton, Ind. 46714.
