Hi all: Microsoft (on Sept. 10, 2003) issued another security bulletin (MS03-039) regarding a security hole in the following operating systems ... o Windows NT (workstation & server) o Windows 2000 (workstation & server) o Windows XP (workstation) o Windows 2003 (server) While there are no known exploits (as of Sept. 11, 2003), security experts believe the code of the Blaster worm could be easily modified to take advantage of this newly discovered vulnerability. I advise everybody that uses any of the above Windows Operating System variants to use the Windows Update capability of Internet Explorer to download and install the patch. It's much easier to install it now and prevent your home PC from being infected than it is to clean up the mess *after* your PC has been infected by one of these worms. If this security hole is akin to the last one, your PC can be infected at any time it is connected to the Internet. You don't have to read an e-mail message that contains the virus payload.
