Hi! In Henry L. Bunker's 1984 Bunker Family History, there are two possible candidates named for the father of George Bunker (N-1)-- Francis Bunker and his brother, Timothy Bunker. It seems that the general consensus is that George (N-1) was the son of Timothy. Could someone explain to me the reasoning behind why George, the son of Francis, was ruled out and George, the son of Timothy, was decided upon as the George who settled in Topsfield, Massachusetts?
