Thanks Bette for your information. I have checked the U.K. 1881 Census for a likely family in London, but no luck. I will try the 1901 census. Were all the children of Chang & Eng born in the States? If so this will narrow down the search for me. Incidentally, when searching the 1881 census I came across an American 'stray' in London: Dudly BUNKER Master Mariner Born 1833 in the 'State of Maine' U.S.A. Boarder There was another Master Mariner staying at the Boarding House which was quite close to the river Thames. David BUNKER
