    3. When searching for your ancestors, do not forget the state archives or vital records departments. Many of them have online records that are not on the regular genealogy databases like Ancestry, Rootsweb, Genealogy.com, etc. For instance there were many Bunkers in Illinois. http://www.sos.state.il.us/departments/archives/death.html is a database with Illinois death records prior to 1916. http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/genealogy/forms/idphd eathsrch.htm has the death records from 1916-1950. http://www.sos.state.il.us/GenealogyMWeb/marrsrch.html has Illinois marriage records 1763 to 1900. Try http://www.worldvitalrecords.com/illinois-vital-records.htm for births and more records. http://www.sos.state.il.us/departments/archives/databases.html is the main page for the state archives and has links to the above as well as military records, coroner's records, almshouse records and many others. On the above sites you will find hundreds of Bunkers. Many states had very few Bunkers but even if your family was the only there it would be worthwhile for you to look at the state archives, deaths, marriages, births, military records, land records, etc. Bette ____________________________________________ Check out the Bunker Family Association. http://www.bunkerfamilyassn.org.
