I have just been notified again, that something has been added to my family tree on Ancestry.com. I have never submitted a tree to Ancestry. I did not recognize the person who made the addition or any other information about the tree on Ancestry. In addition, the information was incorrect. I don't know where people get the information they put up there but it is not from me. This reminds me to warn you that customer submitted family trees on any of the online genealogy sites are prone to major errors and frequently have not been submitted by anyone mentioned on them. The online genealogy sites have fairly accurate information when they have transcribed records and downloaded them although there are transcription errors in those too. The family trees are not to be trusted at all. More than once I have been told that the Bunker Family Assn. records are totally wrong because some site online had a family tree that said otherwise. No genealogy database is without errors and we have some too but we do make an effort to back up our data with actual records or family group sheets submitted by the people who actually got information from living members of their families.
