Click on the following link. http://www.americangreetings.com/view pd?i=361594744&m=2259&rr=y&source=ag999 THE WALL There beyond the grassy knoll A figure stands alone Head is bowed, eyes are closed All thoughts are far from home. A gentle breeze moves through the air I listen to each word The figures lips are quiet and sealed Yet voices can be heard. Come closer press your hand to ours I hear so many say We want to ease the pain you feel Draw close to us this day. We know your hurting deep inside We feel your heartache too Though gone but not forgotten We are here to comfort you. There is no anguish on this side For us there’s no regret Our one request remember us Lest all the world forget. In the jungles and the rivers Each of us once fought and swam Then one by one grew silent In a place called Vietnam. We watched you board the plane for home And wept each time you cried It was for us, there was no doubt Apart of you had died We tried to breech life’s barricade Sought ways you’d heed our call Then someone found the answer And engraved it on a wall. Soldiers, Special Forces Airmen, Seamen one by one When each name was etched in stone We knew that you would come. There is no way you could resist This place we now abide, We knew if you’d but touch the wall You’d bridge the other side. And find behind each honored name Fifty thousand yes and more That we are looking back at you This no one can ignore. Come closer, listen, others speak A diamond by their name Their presence can be seen and felt Their voices are the same. They too gave all that they could give Their memory but a haze The men and women lost in time They are the MIA’s. For those who fought and yes survived Both friend and foe were they We bid them come and touch the wall Together we will pray. It doesn’t matter who you are Or where you might have come If you’ll press your hands to ours Together we’ll be one. So as each tear falls to the ground Upon this hollowed place The healing process will begin With God’s redeeming grace America she’s all we’ve got There is no greater land Our families we have left with you Their future in your hand. To care for them who we still love There’s no one else to call But you alone to lead them now To us behind the wall. by Julius Marvin Hart, Jr.

    1. Descendants of Irving (Le)Roy Bunker
    2. H.A. Kippenhan, Jr.
    3. Hi: I've been trying to pick up a trace of a man named Irving (Le)Roy Bunker for quite some time. He's one of the children of Hiram F. Bunker and Mary Ann Clair. I finally found him in the 1920 U.S. Census. He's living in Waterbury, Conn. with his wife Pearl (Godfrey), his in-laws (John L. and Linda A. Godfrey), and his two children, Ralph and George I. (prob. Irving). Ralph is 12, and George is 3. Now I find that there is a Ralph Bunker (born: June 23, 1907 -- died: August, 1976) in Middlebury, Conn. The info. is from the SSDI file. And I find a George Bunker (born: Jan. 14, 1917 -- died: June, 1985) in Waterbury, Conn. The info. is from the SSDI file. Bur most significantly, I found Pearl Bunker (born: Mar. 19, 1883 -- died: June 15, 1966) My hunch is that these two gentlemen are the sons of Irving Bunker and Pearl Godfrey. And far more probable, Pearl Bunker was the spouse of Irving Bunker. Do we have any Bunker Assoc. members who live in this area of the United States who could assist me in doing a little checking to see if my "hunch" is a good one? Any assistance greatly appreciated. Best regards H.A. Kippenhan, Jr.

    3. The 1930 census lists the family in Waterbury, New Haven Co., Ct: Irving L. Bunker age 50, married at 26, b. IL, parents b. IL, burnisher mill brass; Pearl, wife, age 45, married at 21, b. PA, parents b. PA; George age 13, b. CT; Evelyn age 8 b. CT; Glynn, son, age 22 b. NY; Sophie Stanley age 22, boarder, b. CT, parents b. CT, bench hand, mill brass; Linda Godfrey, mother-in-law, age 71, widow, married at 22, b. PA, parents b. PA. Glynn has a funny initial after his name that appears to be a capitol A followed by a lower case b. Since Ralph seems to be missing from the 1930 census and this Glynn is the same age, I would say he is Ralph Glenmore as we have him listed in the BFA db. I would look for the possiblity that Ralph/Glen married Sophie Stanley since they are listed next to each other in the census and Ralph due to his age really should have been listed first. Also Ralph G. Bunker b. 13 Jan 1935, d. 16 Jan 2002, last residence Woodbury, Litchfield Co., CT (SSDI) may have been Ralph's son. I am very interested in learning more about this family and join Kipp in asking for help. Thanks. Bette -----Original Message----- From: H.A. 3. Metes, Bounds & Meanders from Kimberly Powell Platting the Land of Your Ancestors In the original thirteen colonies, plus Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, Texas, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, and parts of Ohio (the state land states) land boundaries are identified according to the indiscriminate survey system, more commonly referred to as metes and bounds. The metes and bounds land survey system relies on several different items to convey a property description: . General Location - details on the property's location, possibly including the state, county, and township; nearby waterways; and acreage. . Survey Lines - describes the boundaries of the property using direction and distance. . Boundary Descriptions - details on natural features found along the property boundaries, such as creeks and trees. . Neighbors - names of neighboring property owners whose land shares a line or adjoins at a corner.
