Hello, My name is Michael E. Van Wasshnova, Mike will do just fine! I have just subscribed and would like to post what I am seeking. I am trying to locate information on two family's that supposedly orginiated in Germany. My great grandparents Carl Joseph PETERS and Mary Margarete SCHMELL may have been married in Germany just before coming to America. This is the information I have on them, dates of birth and death were taken from their tombstones. Carl Joseph PETERS was born 4 April 1865. Mary Margerte SCHMELL was born 18 Sept 1863. The next thing I know for sure is that a son, Adolph Albert Theodore PETERS was born 7 April 1888 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, baptized 6 May 1888 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. On 18 August 1889 a daughter, Meta Louise Friederike PETERS was born, baptized 22 Sept 1889 same location and church. On 22 January 1891 Robert Wilhem Johann was born and baptized 8 Feb 1891 same as the other two (2) children. Sometime in the year 1892 the family moved to Monroe, Michigan where Carl, also spelled Karl, obtained work in one of the many brewery's in that city. I have information on the family after their arrival in Monroe, but would like to gather whatever data I can on the lives of Carl and Mary and their families in Germany.
