I am trying to narrow down the timeframe that my grandfather, Friedrich Dietrich WIEMANN, would have emigrated to Ellis Island New York. He lived in Bramsche. So please advise as to whether Hamburg or Bremerhaven would most likely have been his port of departure. Also, I have him graduating grade school in 1903 in Bramsche....then he is Naturalized a citizen of US in 1912. I understand that the naturalization process took at least 5 years to complete (I read that at the NARA site, I believe) So, would I be correct to assume emigration between the years 1903-1907 ? Where can I found out the names of the ships that traveled from Germany to America (direct, I believe), during this time period. Finally, are these passenger lists available at FHC or anywhere else ?
