    1. Source for early "German" maps
    2. I want to share a resource I have found for old maps. Jonathan Sheppard Books Box 2020, Plaza Station Albany NY, 12220 USA FAX #: (518) 766-9181 I don't know an e-mail address. They carry a wide variety of reproductions of early maps from US and the continental move westward, UK, Germany, Central Europe, and Other European areas. Their focus is mostly US with a number of Germany. They have a total of 143 maps available. They will mail/FAX a list upon request. For example: Germany circa - 1760 Two Views of Germany - 1766,1780 A New map of Germany Divided into its Circles - 1805 The German Empire Circa 1875 The Rhine from Bodensee to Koln - 1845 Westphalia - 1799 Archbishopric & Electorate of Mainz - Northern District - 1797 Kingdom of Hanover - 1832 The State of the Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt (Northern District) Under the Administration of Giessen, with the Dominions of Nidda and Itter - 1797 There are 28 listings for "Germany and Central Europe" There are an additional 22 listings for "Other European Areas" which are mostly Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Bohemia, etc. Most maps are about $6 US to $12 US and are 18" x 24" black and white on "parchment" reproductions of originals they own. I have ordered 2 maps of early Germany and have been pleased with the quality. They accept VISA and Master Card so non-USA residents should have no difficulty. They do add shipping charges.
