Does anyone have any information on a Albert Kaselitz born September 23 probably the years 1830 to 1860 (approximately). He was a jeweller in Saxony and settled in Cheboygan, Wisconsin. He became a pastor and then resided in Waldenburg, Michigan. He married Emilie Rohrig but I have no information on birthdate or wedding date so I have to guess they were married after 1870. They had a son Hugo Kaselitz born December 18, 1877 born in Cheboygan, Wisconsin. Any help is appreciated Thank you Carmen Kaselitz sopran@flash.net

Hi all, I am trying to find out where Huffenhardt, Germany is located. My ancestors, Hans Georg SIGMAN (b. 1718) and his father Johannes SICKMANN were both born there. Hans Georg immigrated to America before 1750. Other spellings are SIGMON (my line currently), SIEGMAN and SIGHMAN. Other family surnames from the same area are BISSBING (or BISSBURG) and MANN. The family also may have lived in Obergimpern, Germany as well. I would like to find out where these two towns are, as they are not on any map I have found, and some history about the area and people of that time period. I got this information from a distant relative via my uncle, so I don't have any first hand knowledge. Thanks to anyone who can tell me anything at all, Jean Cloke gjcloke@aol.com
I am researching the following surnames in Germany. "Foedisch" from Gera, Germany. "Templiner" from Lutzen, Germany. "Foerstl" or "Foestl" or "Foestel", "Gerald" unknown places of origin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jack Rabel JACKRABEL@aol.com

In Germany this surname is spelled GIENGER and describes someone originally being from the town of Giengen in the formerly province of Wuerttemberg which is now a part of the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. The interactive atlases http://www.mapquest.com and http://www.expediamaps.com might show you where Giengen is located. BUT.....you should know that people IN Giengen never had been called Gienger. They got these surnames when moving to another area. At home, in Giengen, they mostly had just a first name, nothing else. -- Best regards/Gruss, Johannes Sempert BUNDESWEITER INTERNETSTREIK AM 01. October 23, 1998 There are many web sites that you can go into that might help you find this John Kloss info you are looking for. If you need any leads as to what to go into write me and I will give you those sites. HOWEVER, most of the sites are pretty sketchy when it comes to info dating back so far. I am having the same problem with finding out info on my greatgreat grandparents. My ggrandparents came from Germany and so far I haven't got info that I want dating back to 1850's or so. You best be getting obtu's or death certificate on your Paul Kloss.... that should have where in Germany he came from.... then you search out that area of Germany as his parents were probably married in that same village, etc. Have you gone to your local archives.... they should be very helpful? I still have to go to my local one in Southern California to search further. Also, the Mormon Church has local "Family History Centers" or what one might call genealogy libraries, all over the world that you can go into and seek much, much info. If they don't have what you want you can order it on micro-fish from them and it will come from Salt Lake City, their main headquarters. Just get into your white pages and look under "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" and you should be able to find Family History Centers. Also, once a year the Mormons in different cities have a "Genealogy Day Fair" and you can go all day to it at a local church center and for free sit in classes about genealogy. The Family History Centers also usually have free classes during the year.... Just inquire. The Church also has bookstores, called Dessert Book Stores in and around many cities of the U.S.A. which you can go to and buy books on genealogy. Also, the Church has a web site where you could order genealogy books over the Internet. Just e-mail me back if you want any more information in any of these areas, I would be glad to help you. Remember, the Internet has a wealth of info on genealogy. However, like I said it is harder the further you go back date wise. Also, you should try to find out "Germany" contacts.... There are many sites in Germany (on the Internet) that will get you in touch with German individuals who might e-mail you also. Sincerely, Susanne R. Grossgoerschen is in the former Communist part of Germany where folks had to learn Russian at school instead of English as a foreign language. If he didn't respond to you he probably didn't understand your letter. My Germany telephone directory cd shows him still living there. Maybe you have more luck when writing again - in the German language. -- Best regards/Gruss, Johannes Sempert BUNDESWEITER INTERNETSTREIK AM 01. NOVEMBER!!!
