All my Bullock ancestors came from the Ribblesdale area of the West Riding of Yorkshire, concentrated around Gisburn,Long Preston and Settle. Robert Bullock of Newsholme married Ann Roberts at Gisburn in 1717. Children:Ann 1716,Nicholas 1718,Henry 1721, Margaret 1723, JOHN 1726, Robert 1728, james 1732,Mary 1735. John Bullock of Nappa married Ann ?? c. 1753 Children:Joanna 1753, John 1754, Ann 1757, Ann 1759, JAMES 1761 James Bullock of Settle married Alice Waddington 1784 at Giggleswick. children:aAnn1784, Jenny 1786, Grace 1788, Alice 1790, Mary 1793, Esther 1795, JOHN 1798, Alice 1801. John Bullock of Settle married Mary Hill 1824 at Giggleswick Children:JAMES 1824, Grace 1826,Alice 1827, Esther 1830, Margaret 1832, Dorothy 1835, Robert 1837, John 1840, Mary Hill 1841. James Bullock of Long Preston married Ann Camm 1850 at Long Preston Children: Mary 1851, WILLIAM 1852, John 1854, Stephen 1856, James 1859, Thomas 1861, Rowland 1864 William my gg grandfather ,a Stonemason ,moved to Nelson in Lancashire around 1880,as there was work available building houses in a rapidly expanding cotton weaving town. William Bullock married Ann Maria Coates at Burnley in 1885 Children:Jane 1885, Arthur 1887, JAMES 1889,Herbert 1891, William 1893, Fannie 1895, May 1897, Nellie 1899, John 1901, Dora 1802, Harry 1904.
