Hi cousin, I am Barbara Bullock Elliott--Durham, NC. My family of Bullocks are from Granville Co., NC and I believe I can give you some information and introduce you to two other cousins , one in Maryland and one in Calif that is also researching the Bullocks. My Thomas T. Bullock was born before 1828 and died about 1849. He left Granville County, North Carolina and in the 1840 Census was in Bedford Co., Tn. His wife is named Frances. Frances gives Adm. duties to John Bullock 10/2/1849. She was a widow of San Augustine Co., Texas. The parents of Thomas T. Bullock are Richard Bullock b. 10/12/1781 and d. Sept 1841, shot from ambush in his home. married Mildred (Milly) Walker on 10/19/1803 the dau. of Solomon Walker and Martha Mitchell. (Parents of Richard Bullock are Joshua (Ens) Bullock and Ann Cook). Children of Richard Bullock and Milly Walker: 1. Emmalene (Emma) Bullock married J. C. Rogers and moved to Tusalosa, Ala. 2. James Bullock (one source has this name marked out in the Thornton Library in Oxford, N. C.) 3. John W. Bullock moved to Fla. but was still in Granville Co., NC in 1849. 4. Lucy Bullock married 10/28/1836 in Granville Co., NC to R. G. Steed and later married Frederick Jones Carter. 5. Martha Bullock married _____ Baker 6. Minerva Bullock married Oct. 21, 1856 in Chapel Hill, N.C. Duval Tilley 7. Monroe (Rev.) Bullock married 3/5/1845 Catherine McLeod. Died abt 1861 and moved from Granville Co., to Bedford Co., Tn. 8. Ruffin Bullock married Dec. 11.1866 Sarah Hays 9. Susan Bullock married William F. Russell 10. Elizabeth Pannill Bullock b. 4/6/1815 in Tally Ho in Granville Co., NC, died 11/29/1906 and is buried beside her husband and his family in Old Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, NC married 12/25/1839 John Wesley (Wes) Carr 11. William Bullock b. abt 1823 married _____ Bridges and mved to Lincoln Co. Tn. and was there 5/6/1844. 12. Annie Bullock born abt 1824 married Ephrium Baxter McLane and was living in Rutherford Co., Tn. 4 Jan 1845. 13. Thomas T. Bullock born bef 1828 d abt 1849 married Frances and in 1840 Census was living in Bedford Co., Tn. 14. Robert M. Bullock b. 2/8/1828 d 7/27/1905 married 1852 to Amanda Waterman and was living in Marion Co. Gla 2/22/1849. 15 Mildred Bullock born abt 1830 married 1848 Simeon Helveston and in 1844 was under gardenship ofJ. W. Carr (her brother-in-law). The James Bullock (father of Joshua (Ens) Bullock) moved from St. Mary's Co. Maryland to Granville Co., NC in 1768 when his son Charles Bullock was about 9 years old and I descended from Charles Bullock. I do not know much about the Bullocks when they went west as so much contact was lost, but delighted to be able to reconnect and trace the family's westward move. There are 2 pages in a book "History of Rover and the 10 District of Bedford County" on the Bullocks. This book is out of print--but a new one or reprinting may be in the making. I have mailed a letter to Tim Marsh at 912 Shelbyview Drive, Shelbyville, Tn. 37160 (County Historian) and have asked that he copy (I sent his $2 and a envelope with stamp and return address) the information on the Bullock and family connection that is in their book. Some of the Bullocks moved to Missouri, some to Benton Co. Ar--Elizabeth Bullock married Haywood Preston Oakley and moved to Rogers, Ar. (Benton Co.). She and her husband gave land and he and his seven sons built Oakley Chapel Church. The original church burned and has been rebuilt on the same spot--Both are buried in the Church Cemetery, along with some of their children. I do not have any information on Thaddeus Warsaw Bullock, Solomon Walker Bullock and James Whitis Bullock, but excited over seeing this and want to know more. Anthony Long lives in Maryland and is connected to the early (John Bullock) Bullocks there. C. Burr Bullock lives in Paradise Calif. and his Bullocks moved from Tn. to Mo and then on to Calif. (Granville Co.) that has a four drawer file on the Bullocks, and from my visit to Maryland, along with other researchers--Dr. Lewis T. Bullock, Estelle Bullock Thomas, etc. There are 3 different sets of Bullocks in Granville Co. Micajah Bullock (son of Edward Bullock, Jr.) b. 1745 in Hanover Co., Va. and the Hugh Bullock crowd out of Isle of Wright, Virginia, then our James Bullock family from St. Mary's Co. Maryland. You will find, John, William, Leonard, James being used by all families--and its hard to keep separate.
