I really hope that someone on the list has some clues or ideas for me as I am having a very, very hard time pinning down my Bullock ancestors. What I do know is that Emmaline was born August 09, 1846, near Millwaukee. Her father was Lewis Bullock. His other children were Silas Adelbert Bullock who was born in IL, January 09, 1843 There was an older sister named Ann who married John Cole. I haven't actually found the Coles in a Census record, yet. The first census that I have found this family in Allamakee Co., near Waukon IA 1860. I have searched all of the Counties in WI for 1850 that had a Bullock listed in it and found no Lewis's I have also searched many IA counties and did not find Lewis. Now, the exciting part is that I have on loan Emmaline's photo album and of couse the pictures are unnamed but there are photographers marks on the backs of some. I am reseaonably certain that this is an Album of Bullocks and that they were taken just before the CW, during and right after. Pretty sure the majority was pre 1870. The photographers are for Evansville Wisc, Cresco IA, Amboy IL. There are also a number of MI pictures. Emmaline married my JUNE ancestors who were form MI. I have traced all of them and they were not ever in the 3 locations that I named. There are a number of MI pictures that are probably of the JUNE/PIERCE family that she married into. So I can only deduct that the other pictures are Bullock cousins or of her mother's family. If anyone would like me to scan some of the pictures I can do that. I am fortunate in that I have the diaries that Emma's husband kept starting the year that they were married 1870. There is unfortunately very little on the Bullock Family. BTW, Lewis was b. March 10, 1816 NY and per his obit "In the spring of 1860, under the labors of J. N. Andrews, he embraced the truths held by S. D. Adventists" prior to that he was a M.E. (Methodist Episcople) member. I belive that his wife's name was Laura and that she was born about 1820, but am not sure. If anyone has any clues or suggestions at all that they thing I could follow up on I would really appreciate it. Happy Hunting, Anita
