    3. Happy New Year! So far no luck on learning anything about my 3rd ggrandmother, Nancy Jane Bullock b. 6/15/1834 d. 1864 who was the first wife of Benjamin F. Sewell b. 6/6/1834 d. 1/31/1893. Would anyone know who her parents were? Sibs? Where she was born? I'm assuming it was in Pulaski Co KY but I could be wrong. Even a tidbit of info about her would be appreciated. Stephanie

    2. Hi, I cannot seem to verify this. I do have a record someone sent me where Bethiah, Comfort, Daniel and Mercy are all on a land deed together, but it doesn't mention the relationship. I suspect they are his parents but can not verify. Mercy it seems goes back to Richard Warren on the Mayflower so I wish we could verify it. Claire

    3. Claire, I'm like Chuck in that I have Daniel & Mary/Mercy (Sawyer/Sayer) Bullock as Comfort's parents. However, I'm not at all comfortable (no pun intended) with that relationship. The only things found for Daniel & Mary in Arnold's Rehoboth VR are a marriage and one child: Marriages "Bullock, Daniel and Mary Sayer, both of Rehoboth, married by Rev. David Turner April 17, 1744. Int. March 31, 1744." Births "Bullock, Thomas, of Daniel and Marcy, Jan. 26, 1767." [Note that this birth is almost 23 years after the marriage date.] Comfort & Bethia supposedly named their first daughter Mercy--maybe after Comfort's mother--but I find no record of that birth either. The only sources I've seen for Comfort being a son of Daniel & Mary are two LDS Ancestral Files, but those files can be very unreliable just like any other user-contributed files without sources. Probably the best bet for finding proof of Daniel's parents would be in a land deed. If Comfort & Bethia sold land received from his father, the names of all of them might be mentioned in the deed. Of course there could be other town VRs that aren't included on the Bristol Co. MA CD-ROM that might have some of Comfort's or his parents' records. Or there could be something in the adjacent counties or in RI. 3. Pat. Don't give up. You never know when the next key stroke starts that brick wall to crumble. I am working on a 180 year old mystery, and I got a real good lead. Some of us have been at this a long time, and you win a little at a time. I started way back when the commodore computers were the computers of choice. Not a lot of data back then. It changes every day. More and more people coming on line. The more people we have looking, the easier it is to find. Hang in there Kid. You will get it. And the time will come when you will make someone's day. You get almost as much satisfaction from that as you do when you find something of yours. Also, you make a lot of friends and meet a lot of really good helpful people. 3. Jeff Recently while surfing Ancestry.Com I found some information that may help other BULLOCK researchers. ABEL BULLOCK changed his name to Abel Carpenter Adams. This was from Massachusetts Name Changes 1780 - 1892 at Ancestry.com It did not give a date, but I thought this might knock down some brick walls for some Bullock researcher. Would you please post this on your list. 3. Pat I don't have a birth day on Mary either. I have established that she was born around 1831. She was one of 10 children 7 boys and 3 girls. I only know the names of two of her brothers, William M Bullock and Westwood Bullock, but I do know that William was born in Dickson Co. TN. Dec. 6, 1828. I know that William came to Graves Co. Ky in 1832 with his son William M. Bullock, and according to the 1840 Graves Co. Ky Census 2 females between 5-10 could be Mary age 9 and her sister Martha.. The youngest female would be Cynthia ( female between 0-5). The age is close, but the evidence points to Mary being born in TN. I don't have a middle initial, but it could be E as well as any other letter. This does not help you much, but it is a start. I would be very interested in any thing you find out about Mary. 3. Claire, We have communicated before. Possibly on this issue. I show Comfort's parents as Daniel Bullock (1719-1768) and Mercy (Marcy) Sayer (1725-1775) and that he was 2nd of 3 children. I have always had some doubts about the vilidity of this relationship, but I can't pin down the source from which I received it, so can't verify. Have you added anything to either confirm or deny? 2. James, I'm sorry, I believe I hit the wrong button the first time nevertheless I don't have a birthday on Mary. John B. Wells death certificate it said his mother was Mary E. Bullock, John was born March 25, 1848, and died on Oct. 29, 1920 in Ozone, AR. he married Matilda Ann (Williams) Wells. Someone in Russellville, AR. told me that she thought Mary and John were sister and brother but the dates didn't match up. So I'm wondering about Mary E. Bullock. Do you have any suggestions? 3. I don't know for sure, but I believe in N.C. He married Maria Garner and they had at least one son. (I am sure there were more children) named William Bullock. William married Lyddie Myatte first. Then he married Louisa LUTHER. William came to Graves Co Ky in 1832 from NC. That is why I believe that Allen is from NC. I have some information that Asa Allen Bullock from Bradford PA, and Lucelia Sweet are included in this line some way. The information is an old letter.
