Ray, I am also seeing the Bullock posts, although I have only forwarded a few, and saved none. We have two choices here, you can get permission to forward, Or invite the submitters to the Bullock list. OR we can post your correlations on the website, and share data there. Attached datafiles will not go through the list servers, so the website is the best place for those. Be advised there are other Bullock groups represented on Bullock-L, and some of our users have excellent websites in their own right, and I willingly will post data or links on the Bullock website. Photos are welcome as well. Thanks, let me know your thoughts. Jeff
tjones@camden.net Source: SC-Genealogy-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [SC] BULLOCK source data and families. Ray, Went to the Camden Archives today (home of the SC DAR Library) and in looking for some information on a Cambridge Rd. that ran thru the property of on of the folks I am looking for on a plat in 1818, I found information on Bullocks. I am quoting from "Greenwood Co. Sketches: Old Roads and Early Families" by Margaret Watson., Attic Press, Inc., Greenwood, South Carolina (Given by Star Fort Chapter DAR to the SC DAR State Librart Jan 21, 1971.) BULLOCK Two brothers, John and Nathaniel Bullock and their families came from North Carolina before the Revolution to settle near Ninety Six. by 1789 Nathaniel Bullock and family had removed to Wilkes Co., Ga. The 1790 Census lists John Bullock east of Cambridge (Ninety-Six) and James, Dan and Richard Bullock next to one another slightly southwest of Cambridge. The 1817 Mills Atlas map for Edgefield District shows the homes of Richard and James Bullock on the road from Cambridge to Edgefield, a few miles southeast of the present Epworth community. John Bullock died in 1799. In 1759 he had married Mary Mitchell in Oxford, N. C., eight children. No data on William others were: Daniel Bullock, born 1762, Revolutionary War Soldier, married Jane Sinquefiled Maxwell, daughter of Francis and Sarah Lamar Sinquefield and widow of Edward Maxwell: five children 1. John Bullock, born 1792; David Bullock, born 1796; Danile Bullock Jr., 1798-1834; and Lucy Lamar Bullock. John Bullock d 1812 married Rebecca Williams, daughter of John Williams; nine children: John W., Duke M., Goerge W., William P., James Atwood, Joseph M., Eliza C. Lucinda A. and Rebecca A. Bullock. Richard Bullock, married Ursula Martin, daughter of William and Frances Goode* Martin. Richard Bullock died in 1836 in Mississippi, but records indicate at least some of his children remained in South Carolina. Six children of Richard and Ursula Martin Bullock were: 1. Richard Bullock, Jr. did not marry 2. William Bullock, 1790-1827 married Agnes White, daughter of George White*; four children: William W. Bullock born 1820; Martin L. Bullock, born 1827; and two died in infancy. 3. Amuy Bullock married Daniel Williams* 4. Martin Bullock married Eliza Ann Williams 5. Reaves Bullock married [ ] Burt. 6. Hi Barb, I am a direct Dagley descendant, but apparently NOT through the line you mention below, My wife is a Bullock, and we think the Kentucky Boones were related. (Not out of Texas yet). Of course you may already be aware that the Peffley family is connected in the most recent century with the Boones, although I am not in that line of descent, I would be a cousin to the Peffley that married George Morrison Boone. The Boone family has "flirted " with my lines since before the Boones went south out of Pa., There are Millers that were in Boonesboro (Sp?), and Stovers in my lines that were apparently contemporary with Squire Boone. I have a Dagley/Crowley connection, and I am wondering if the Crowley Family fits into your data ?
