I am looking for any information on my great-grandmother DELLA BULLOCK. The only fact I have is census information that she was born June, 1868 in Pa. She was married to CLINTON FELTON, born Nov., 1870. The family lived in Pa.
Dear Ginny Deagan: Yes, Yes, Yes!!! I am so excited by your information! I have lots of info re Levi Bullock and his descendants (which include me!). I had sort of guessed at the existence of Ebenezer Bullock, Sr. and Jr. from fragmentary data, so was pleased to be vindicated. How would you like to go about sharing info? I use Ultimate Family Tree. I could snail mail info to you or try to convert to Gedcom (altho I am not an expert) and send it by snail mail or e-mail -- or all of the above. I hope to hear from you soon! I don't have a copy of the Rehoboth VR at home, but will look at them the next time I go to the Family History Center where I have them on permanent loan. The manuscript by Jonathan Russell Bullock which is in the Providence RI Historical Society says that: "Samuel was twice married, first 1673, Nov 12 to Mary Thurber of Swansey,[daughter] of Samuel of Rehoboth. She died 1674, Oct 4, at the birth of her only child, Mary." The manuscript lists Daniel as a son of Samuel and his second wife, Thankful Rouse who he married in 1675. The marriage might be in the Swansea Records. -- Ginny - Pensacola, FL My Home Page http://www.pcola.gulf.net/~gdeagan FLGenWEb http://www.rootsweb.com/~flescamb/index.htm Descendants of Richard Bullock http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/2726/

Does anyone have any information on Judge Edward Irvin Bullock, born February 15, 1810, in Culpeper Co, VA, died February 13, 1883, near Columbus, KY? He was my gg-grandfather. I'm descended from his daughter Clara Pinckney Bullock. What information I have on him, including a photo, can be found on my web site: http://members.aol.com/tomtullis/eib.htm. A link to his biography on the Kentucky Biographies Project is also included. Although I heard from family members that his father was also an Edward Bullock, and that he was born in Ireland, I have not been able to confirm either. Thanks! My data shows that Israel Bullock (b. 1704, d. 16 Feb 1757), husband of Sarah Brown, died in Barrington, RI. I want to check to see if anyone has documentation to verify this. The reason I ask is that probate records show that he was from Rehoboth, Bristol, MA. In H. L. Peter Rounds' book, _Abstracts of Bristol County, Massachusetts, Probate Records, Book 2, 1745-1762_, are the following listings: P. 200; Inv. of est. of ISRAEL BULLOCK of Reho., ord. 5 Apr. 1757, pres. 5 Apr. 1757 by Sarah Bullock, widow & admx. Pers. est. 134-1-8; real est. 200-0-0. Apprs: Daniel Carpenter, Benjamin Brown & Peleg Richmond [15:326¼/6½/7]. P. 208; Appt. of Sarah Bullock of Reho., widow, to be admx. of est. of ISRAEL BULLOCK of Reho. dcd. intest., dtd. 5 Apr. 1757 [15:449]. P. 228; Acct. of Sarah Bullock, admx. of est. of ISRAEL BULLOCK of Reho., dtd. 5 Dec. 1758. Incl. var. payms. "Spent in the family" [16:177/8]. The abbreviations used by Rounds are: acct. - account admx. - administratrix apprs. - appraisers appt. - appointed dcd. - deceased dtd. - dated est. - estate intest. - intestate inv. - inventory ord. - order paym. - payment pres. - presented Reho. - Rehoboth I came across this when trying to verify the parents of Comfort Bullock, but as shown above, Israel died intestate, so there was no will naming his children. I guess it's possible that Israel was living in Rehoboth but died while he was away from home (in RI). Jim Bullock Littleton, CO
Some of us have a problem in our Comfort Bullock + Holmes Wightman line. I have Comfort as the _son_ of Israel and Sarah (Brown) Bullock. I assumed that he was a male because I showed that he had a son named Comfort Bullock, who married Sibble Peirce. But I now have good evidence that Holmes Wightman was the husband and Comfort Bullock was the wife. (However, this appears to be a different Comfort than the child of Israel and Sarah--see below.) First, I checked to see if the name Comfort was used for both males and females and found that it was. I found other men named Comfort in lists of freemen. And I found daughters named Comfort in several wills. What I have on Holmes Wightman and Comfort Bullock is this: On page 574 of _Genealogies of Rhode Island, Vol. II_, a collection of articles from "The New England Historical and Genealogical Register", is an article entitled "Inscriptions in Family Burial Grounds at North Kingston and Exeter, R. I." Under "Wightman Burial Ground" ("at Quidnessett, on the Wightman (now the Cedar Crest) Farm") is included the inscription "Comfort, wife of Holmes Wightman, d. Feb. 19, 1818, in 73d year". Notice the age and compare to that of Israel and Sarah's Comfort. The Comfort of Israel and Sarah would have been 76 on the above date of death. Also listed in the same Wightman Burial Ground are: George, son of Holmes & Comfort Wightman, d. Nov. 8,1773, aged 7 years, 6 months, 18 days. Holmes Wightman, d. Jan. 18, 1817, aged 70. Sarah, dau. of Holmes & Comfort Wightman, d. Feb. 15, 1780, in 7th year. There are about 30 other Wightmans lised in this burial ground. The Comfort who married Holmes is Comfort Bullock according to Arnold in his Rehoboth VRs, where he lists their marriage from vol. 3, p. 347 as: Bullock, Comfort of Rehoboth and Holmes Wightman of North Kingstown, married by Rev. Ephraim Hyde April 12, 1768. Int. March 1, 1768. Conclusions: Comfort Bullock, who married Holmes Wightman, is a female. Holmes and Comfort are not the parents of Comfort Bullock who married Sibble Peirce. (Their children would have been named Wightman, not Bullock.) Comfort (Bullock) Wightman is probably not the child of Israel Bullock and Sarah Brown. (Different ages at date of death.) Comfort Bullock, child of Israel & Sarah, was probably a male. (Because of being named after the father.) Maybe someone has documentation to verify this? Questions: Who did Comfort, child of Israel & Sarah, marry? Is there any documentation that he was father of Comfort who married Sibble Peirce? Jim Bullock Littleton, CO
Hi again, Comfort Bullock who married Bethiah Bowen was also married prior to that to Sibble Pierce so we are talking about the same Comfort. Comfort and Sibble had Jesse Comfort and Bethiah had Abel, my line and many other children. Claire
I am looking for any info on the family of Seth Bullock and Mary Martin. (I have Seth's ancestors). Seth was born in Rehoboth in 1761 and died in Grafton, NH in 1832. His wife Mary Martin was born in 1769 Rehoboth? and died in Grafton, NH in 1820. I have nothing on the Martin family and I have consulted the Martin history (Rehoboth Martins). They had 6 children but the males did not produce offspring. Their daughter Experience Bullock married Merril Hoyt and after he died she married David Dyer, and they had 2 children, one of whom is my ancestor. I have not found any clues to the origin of David Dyer. Leslie Stuart Nutbrown 1355 Mitchell Road Lennoxville, Quebec Canada J1M 2A3 home page: http://www.geocities.com/~nutbrown
