I have a lot of information from research sent to my sister in 1968, on one branch of the Bullard's. unfortunately it not mine. Will pass it on a little at a time and hope it helps some one out there in surf land. The marriage int. (10 Nov 1778) of John Bachelor and Sarah Bulerd/Bullard are found in Palmer, hampden, Mass. In this same town we find a Josiah Bullard on the Revolutionary War Roll of Capt. Aaron Graves Co. in the Northern Dept. 8 May to 8 July 1777. In the records of the Mass. Soldiers and Sailors of the Rev. War this same Josiah is listed as a private in the above Company. Sarah and her husband, John Bachelor move to Pittsford, Rutland, Vermont sometime before 1790 according to land records and the census of 1790. They probably belonged to the Baptist Church where John's brother-in-law, Elisha rich was the ninister. They later moved to Bastard, Leeds, Ont., probably with the Abel Stevens migration, and are found on the 1804 census of that township. In the land records of Bastard, Joseph Bachelor deeds land to the widow, Sarah on 2 Oct 1810 and that is the last record we have of her. A Josiah is found on the 1790 census of East Windsor, Conn. which is not far from Palmer, Mass. There were a number of people who migrated from this town in Conn to Pittsford, Bt. and then on to Leeds co., Ontario. We also find a Josiah on the 1804 census of Bastard. In Land Book "I"- 1811-1816 page 88, we find the petition of Josiah Bullard; Petition of Josiah Bullard, of Bastard, Yoeman, states Allan Campbell sold his lot No. 1 in the 5th Concession of the Township of Crosby, which had been loc ated for him under Order-in-Council as a United Empire Loyalist, and empowered Abel Stevens to receive his grant for the same. whereas the Order-in-Council has been rescinded on discovery of fradulent representation of the said Allan Campbell and whereby said lot is vacant and grantable, he the petieioner entreats he maybe granted 200 acres on payment of fees and that he may be permitted to locate same on Lot 1 Concession 5, of Crosby Township. 18 June 1811 (More later)
