Author: jayjames1982 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.bulgrin/33/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I would like help locating citations for my relative Theodor Friedrick Reinhard Bulgrin (Theodor Bulgrin) trip to America. I located his departure on the Hamburger Passagierlisten, 1850-1934 Hamburg Passenger Lists, 1850-1934. He departed on the Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Actien-Gesellschaft shipping line on 9 Apr 1893. His records are on page 272 of 416. His family household members: Gottl Bulgrin(Gottlieb), Albertine Bulgrin, Wilh Bulgrin(William), Gustav Bulgrin, Louise Bulgrin(Lizzy) were also on the same ship at the same departure time. Their records are on page 273 of 416. The Bulgrins came into New York, New York. Information is located on the New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957. They arrived on 24 Apr 1893. Their info is on page 6 of 19. However I can not find Theodor on the incoming passanger lists. I know he made it and was not burried at sea. Can anyone help? Thank you. The important thing for me is that the family name was changed to Belgin when the came to the states. It was originally Bulgen. She does not look like our family but it may be a married name and the Reese may be her maiden name. Some family did move to Ohio but we were originally from Colorado Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. August Bulgrin Family
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Bulgrin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0cG.2ACEB/13 Message Board Post: I'm looking for information on the August Bulgrin family, who was known to reside in Portage, Wisconsin and York County, Nebraska. August was born 18 Jul 1834 in Prussia per family records; his wife Wilhilmine "Minnie" Achteberg was born 21 Sep 1833 in Prussia per family records. Minnie's father, Carl, was born about 1812 per census records. August and Minnie had at least two children born in Prussia, who immigrated to America -- Augusta (born 22 Jan 1855) and Albert Ludwig Edward (born 18 Jul 1857). Family records indicate that two children died and were buried at sea during their trip to America. There were at least three children born in Wisconsin -- Frances (born about 1868), Clara Louise Sophia (born 28 Aug 1869), and Christreich "Chris" August (born 13 Sep 1871 at Portage, WI). Based on the birth dates of known children shown above, it's probable there were other children born to this couple as she was having children about every two years and there is an 12 year gap between births. Frances is not shown on the 1880 census for York County, NE. She should have been around 12, so she may have died before the census. If so, it's unknown where she's buried. August and Minnie had at least four more children, with unverified birth locations: Antonia "Anna" Catharine (born 21 Jul 1873), Heinrich August (born 25 May 1875), Julius Theodor Max (born 10 Aug 1876), August N. (born 25 Mar 1877). If any of this ties to your family, I would be very interested in hearing from you! Nancy

Grandfather is Arthur, great granfather Rufus, and great, great grandfather Solomon. I have recently been searching for information on my family history and am interested in hearing from you. I have recently found a listing of a Solomon Belgin on a ships manifest in 1870 from Liverpool England. The name of the ship is the USS City of Brussels. Solomon Belgin listed himself as a passenger 43 years of age and a laborer going to the United States. I am trying to figure out if this sailing is congruent with the time of the homesteading in Arvada Colorado. Please email me with info so we can talk. Thank you.
