    1. [BUDDLE] Notice about Rootsweb Lists
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. This has been received from the Rootsweb administration: Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. As an alternative to RootsWeb Mailing Lists, Ancestry message boards are a great option to network with others in the genealogy community. Message boards are available for free with an Ancestry registered account. Thank you for being part of the RootsWeb family and contributing to this community. Sincerely, The RootsWeb team If anyone has an interest in finding alternative communication possibilities and/or suggestions for alternatives, please send a note to the list to that effect ASAP. With heavy hearts, Jim and Di

    1. [BUDDLE] Help Keep This List Active
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. I just wanted to encourage you all to make use of this list in your family searches. A large number of Rootsweb lists have been made inactive due to no messages over a period of time. We want to keep as many lists active as we possibly can and your participation will help toward that goal. If you have a "brick wall" in your family search, send in a message with as much information as you have and let's see if someone may be able to help fill in those blanks. Best wishes, Jim "Pops" Jackson

I am Jim (Pops) Jackson and have been given the privilege of acting as List Admin for the BUDDLE List. I have been active with Rootsweb for nearly 20 years and have received great pleasure in doing so. 1. [BUDDLE] Lincolnshire, England
    2. Steve Syddell
    3. Hi I have two enquiries, a general one just for interest, and a normal genealogical one. The general one is regarding the Rev. Adam Buddle after whom the Buddlea, or butterfly bush, is named. I believe that he came from Lincolnshire in the 1600s, Deeping St James & Bourn. Is he linked to our families? Google has quite a bit about his family. My specific line has been traced back to RICH BUDDLE, born in Pinchbeck in 1686, who married his second wife, HANNAH BALEY there in 1711. They had a son, Richard in 1723. He had previously been married to MARY BLACKBOURN in Pinchbeck in 1707. If anyone can add to this information I would be very grateful. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. 1. [BUDDLE] New Admin message
    2. Steve Syddell
    3. Hello fellow researchers. Please allow me to introduce myself as the new Administrator for this mailing list. I have been researching the family for a number of years now but I do not profess to be it's most knowledgeable researcher but will do all I can to see that you get what assistance is available. Rules for using the list are brief and simple. Please enjoy it, be courteous to others, help where you feel that you can, be patient with newcomers and above all please stay within the Rootsweb guidelines. IMPORTANT: Please, please, please, always post your requests with any other surnames highlighted in capital [upper case] letters in the subject line as this makes it so much easier for readers to spot likely matches and actually read your message. Lets get the list going with a general 'where I am back to' in my research. Just email your earliest family member and see if others can help you get back further. Happy hunting Steve Syddell Admin. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Version: 7.5.446 / Virus Database: 268.18.10/720 - Release Date: 12/03/2007 19:19
