Has anybody out there researched the WILLIAT family in Bucks. The name crops up twice in my tree 1 Numan Williat married Frances (LANE) widow of Mathew DEVERELL 4 Feb 1633 Swanbourne 2 Newmam Williat appears as a middle name in the BRISE family in 1800s (this is my mother's side!!) A Newman Williat held Brises farm at enclosure from his grandmother Frances Deverell according to Ken Reading This would suggest 1 and 2 are the same family. The name also crops up in my wife's tree !! Newman Williat son in law of John JACKSON (will of John 1650) This one had children Newman (1644 Gt Horwood?) and Hugh I have his will dated 1676 I suspect he might also be 1 above but have no PRs to prove it eg death of Frances after 1633 and marriage of Newman to Hester Jackson Newman sen and jun are mentioned on the Helmsdon website as of Bittlesden. Lipscombe gives me gravestone at Mursley Newman Mar 7 1792 age 87 and Johanna (wife) Jun 2 1767 age 66. and bailffs of Buckingham 1785 and 1804, also a Freeman Williat at Grandborough 1797 I'd love to link this lot up.
