Hi Tania There is,in 1871, a Millicent Price aged 31(Says she was born Oving),Henry aged 10 and Harriet aged 4 are inmates at Aylesbury St Mary which was the AylesburyWorkhouse in St Mary Square Go to this excellent site and see the 'rules' http://users.ox.ac.uk/~peter/workhouse/Aylesbury/Aylesbury.shtml Could not find Robert (1799) but might (Only might) have found Anne and 'Fanny' You say that Millicent gave her birthplace as Whitchurch (The fact that she gave Oving in 1871 may have had something to do with workhouse rules and residence - anyone ??) so her mother was probably from Whitchurch as well and provided 'Fanny' could be taken as an affectation for Ellen then here they are :- Joseph Hinton 28 Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England Head Aylesbury Buckinghamshire Emma Hinton 30 Whitchurch, Buckinghamshire, England Wife Aylesbury Buckinghamshire Mary Hinton 4 Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England Daughter Aylesbury Buckinghamshire Eliza Hinton 2 Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England Daughter Aylesbury Buckinghamshire John Hinton 2 months Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England Son Aylesbury Buckinghamshire Ann Price 67 Whitchurch, Buckinghamshire, England Aunt Aylesbury Buckinghamshire Regards and have a good Christmas,William wgra0331@bigpond.net.au ----- Original Message ----- From: "tmg" <tmg@beeb.net> To: <BUCKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, December 10, 2004 6:47 PM Subject: [BKM] 1871 - Price from Oving Look up... > Hi everybody, > > First thank you, William from the big pond, for Wales part1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in 1871, very helpful information. > > I was wondering if some kind person could look in there 1871 census, and tell me the where abouts and what it say for the following people:- > > Robert Price b abt 1799 (Oving) and his wife Ann b abt 1804. > Fanny Price b abt 1838. > Millicent Price b abt 1839 -( 1881 it says she is from Whichurch). > Henry Price b abt 1862 > Harriet Price b abt 1866 > Finding it differcult to find any concrete dates ? as information is different in some cases. > > Many thanks for any answers. > > Tania. > > > ==== BUCKS Mailing List ==== > As of 19 October 2004: 384 list subscribers > 176 digest subscribers > 560 total subscribers > >

She is the one and only child of theirs who was not actually baptised in either one of the parishes. I presume the children are illegitimate offspring of hers. Millicent was her grandmother's name. >something to do with workhouse rules and residence - anyone ??) so her >mother was probably from Whitchurch as well and provided 'Fanny' could be >taken as an affectation for Ellen then here they are :- > I haven't seen the question yet (odd the way messages come up) but Millicent had a sister Fanny born in 1838, eventually Mrs Brandon and Mrs Deacon. -- Eve McLaughlin Author of the McLaughlin Guides for family historians Secretary Bucks Genealogical Society
