<< <<When I posted this email, I got a weird reply in German from donald.hatch@ns.nl Has anyone else got this when they posted to the list?>> >> <<I believe Donald lives and works in Holland. Are you sure it wasn't just an automatic 'Out-of-Office' reply in Dutch?>> I've just had the reply myself. The first line is indeed in Dutch, and the second is an English translation of it, confirming that it is an automatic 'Out-of-Office' message. It says "I am away until 16 December. Please contact Brenda Marijs for urgent matters; (31 30 235 6130). email brenda.marijs@ns.nl" - maybe the Listowner can prevent any further automatic replies coming from Donald's address until 16 December? If Donald's Out of Office set up is the same as mine, you will only get the one message. If anyone is genuinely inconvenienced by this, please let me know and I can manually unsubscribe him - but as he hasn't unsubscribed hmself, it seems he is looking forward to reading all the back postings from when he was away! There might always have been a possibility that it is not even from him, but generated by the stupid kids who think it is funny to harvest other people's addresses and send out messages as if from them. I get 'bounced' messages allegedly from someone at my domain (which is a name shared by no one else). Always delete attachments and gobbledy gook messages - they could be bearing unwanted gifts as well as cluttering up your post box ( the ones labelled 'Your Password', 'Confirmation', Hello' 'Thanks' from nonsense addresses should go straight in the bin) -- Eve McLaughlin Author of the McLaughlin Guides for family historians Secretary Bucks Genealogical Society
