Can anyone shed any light here... or point me to the appropriate place at least... Elisha Somerton, born in Syresham c 1862 was my great grandfather. He married Annie Tew and had at least two daughters, Ada (also known as Nellie) and Clara, There is a family secret buried in the past somewhere though, which is rumoured to have something to do with horse theft or similar, and Elisha changed his name to Frederick, presumably to escape the past. Elisha was living in Leckhampstead Bucks at 1881 census, but I cannot find anything else about him.... where could I find out if he was a guest at his majesty's pleasure or whatever? Gill Kelly
