Some of them got up to naughty pranks in school and a lot of them were truants. Sometimes this was under the orders of their parents, who needed little Johnnie to earn money or little Jenny to babysit whole Mum did. But eevry truancy or bad behaviour was punished with a firm hand and a stout cane. On Saturday Nov 13, Dr Pamela Horn, the great expert on Victorian children, will be talking about what school log books reveal in HOLD YOUR HAND OUT, NAUGHTY BOY! at 3pm at the Hartwell Day Centre, Thame Rd South (off A418, main Oxford road) west side of Aylesbury centre. Doors open 2pm for an hour's research, problame solving and computer advice.
