    2. Hi Kathy, I've found some SLATERs in 1841 but only in Chilton. The ages in the 1841 census were usually rounded to the nearest 5, hence the William that is listed at 15 may have been 18 (as yours would have been). I'm not sure if they rounded the ages up or down or whether it depended on the individual enumberator. Also, there may be more SLATERs listed but due to the very poor quality (handwritten and extremely feint in places) it might not be possible to read certain pages.
