Hello Lists We now have a birth Certificate for Martha NAYLOR who was born in Wolverton in 1841. She was the daughter of Joseph NAYLOR and RENE or RELEY nee TOOMBS. Has anyone personal knowledge of TOOMBS in that area? The I.G.I.does show quite a number in the Potterspury area. Apart from IRENE has anyone any ideas about her proper given name? Drgeneal

The She appears in all records as Rely or Reloy (the latter the local pronunciation) I thought for a while it was intended as Reby for Rebecca, but apparently not. I suppose it is a new coinage of a 'virtue' name, like Constance, Faith, Troth, Patience, Virtue, which somehow appealed to the parents but never took on elsewhere (thaT I know of). > -- Eve McLaughlin Author of the McLaughlin Guides for family historians Secretary Bucks Genealogical Society
