    3. Hi all, Our new computer has now arrived, so we are now back in touch with the world! That said, we may need some assistance with our family history software. I suspect my old software (Sierra Generations 8) may not work with Windows XP. Does anyone know of an update that is available for this programme? If not, does anyone have Sierra Generation version 8 or later, that if I send to you my family history files you can export them as gedcoms and send them back to me? Is there any other way around this problem? Graham Taylor-Paddick Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK On a nice bright shiny new computer... Some Generations users have reported problems with running version 8 on XP and a new version 8.5 was issued to work on XP. I have heard rumours that this new version is now no longer available, TWR Computing are still advertising it on their website http://www.twrcomputing.co.uk/ so it may still be available from them. The company that produce Family Tree Maker have bought out Sierra and will no longer produce the Generations sotware as they intend to push their own FTM. Send us the files you want converting and we'll do it for you, we've still got an old system running 98SE which has both versions of Generations on it. 3. Hi Graham, I have Generations 8 and changed to XP over two years ago with no problem. I don't think I had to do anything special but it was two years ago. You can send me the file if you think that would help.
