During some 40 years of looking at censuses I have noticed a distinct lack of actual addresses in the villages, particularly the smaller ones, and the census entry number very rarely corresponds with the house number anyway. One can get some help sometimes by relating the entry of interest to a local landmark, frequently a pub but occasionally an occupation.The minister will be found usually next to or at least near to the church, and the local vicarage or rectory may well locate him, or perhaps the butcher's shop or the smithy can be pin-pointed.Worth trying particularly if you have local knowledge.
