    3. Hi Reg, How frustrating. Are there other Oakeley records in the Register? They may provide a clue to family. However it sounds as if the recorder couldn't remember and intended to check and add later and never did. Are the BTs as well as Parish Register? Sometimes an entry is more complete in one than the other. Another possibility is that this isn't the record you're looking for but an adult of that name returning to the CofE.
