    2. Alan Fincher
    3. Hello, I'm new to the list. I'm now starting to work on ancestors of my paternal grandmother, Elizabeth FINCHER born Elizabeth SMITH on 20 Jun 1879 in St Leonards, Aston Clinton, Bucks. I'm quite confused by all the parishes in this area, but these Smiths are from Buckland / Buckland Common, almost certainly as far back as the late 18th century. Although researching SMITH sounded a bit daunting, I think most of the SMITH families in this parish probably link back to common ancestors. I'm particularly interested in anybody who has looked at Henry SMITH & Frances HUMPHREY, (or HUMPHRIES), who married in Buckland on 12th Oct 1802. I think Frances was born around 1778, and guess that Henry SMITH would have been born about the same time. I'm also interested in the Penn and Cox families in this area, who married in to my Buckland SMITH line, and particularly James PENN born around 1800 in Missenden, or his sons, including Thomas PENN born about 1826 in Chalfont. Anyone link into any of these, please ? Alan Fincher (just across the "border" in Herts). Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com
