Ever wanted to find out the history of your house, or your family's ancestral home? Next Satruday, October 13, Julian Hunt, who has research the background of many houses in the course of writing his books about the county and its towns, is talking about TRACING THE HISTORY OF A HOUSE illustrated by slides of typical properties. The talk begins at 3pm, but doors are open at 2pm to give you the chance of an hour's research in various microfiches and CDs we bring, and also the chance to have your problems sorted out with expert advice. The venue is the Mandeville school, Ellen Rd, Aylesbury, near Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Either (from north, east and south east) follow the signs to SM Hospital (all round the town), then turn off Right at Entrance 2 (main hospital entrance roundabout) into Churchill Avenue, go over the rail bridge (mind speed camera) and turn left at the little roundabout, into Ellen Rd, and immediately left into the school drive. Ample parking on the left. From the due south, follow signs and turn left into church Ave, then as before. >From the west, you will approach the outskirts of Aylesbury on the A418. At the second of two very close roundabouts, turn right into Ellen road, go all the way down (ignoring diversion to SM Hospital) and turn right into the school just before the roundabout.
