    3. Hi Amanda, this is a generous offer! I've been lucky enough to visit Padbury churchyard a couple of times and was delighted to find my NELSON ancestors buried near the church (2 stones one upright, one flat, right by the path on left hand side by back corner of the church). Now, however, I'm researching the rare SPATCHERs who started out in Dadford/Stowe but one famly line was in Padbury from earlyish in the 19th century. So if you could keep a weather eye open for that name I would be grateful. Though the oldest variety were solid yeomen in Stowe, I think they were in ag lab territory by the Padbury time, so there may be no stones to see. I know what you mean about Padbury looking like it's never changed - all that thatch! I thought I'd stepped into a faux Hollywood period set when I first saw it, too pictureskew to be true. I also found the house where my 4xg-grandfather Thomas NELSON lived - Derrick Cottage, which is set back from the main road, a sizeable place but not thatched (this isn't your place is it, just wondering if we've emailed before!). Thanks Celia Renshaw in Chesterfield UK -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: 04 August 2007 16:45 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [BKM] Claydon House/HAMP Hi Alan I grew up in Winslow, which is 4 miles from Padbury, and moved to Padbury last year. Padbury has not changed at all. Your ancestors would probably recognise most of the village still. If you need anything looking up in the churchyard, let me know and I will see what I can find for you. regards Amanda *************************************** BGS Website: http://www.bucksgs.org.uk/ BFHS Website: http://www.bucksfhs.org.uk/ Bucks Genuki Website: http://met.open.ac.uk/genuki/big/eng/BKM/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
