Hi Pat, In your very large King tree would you happen to have a James KING born 1677 at Padbury? If so, do you know if he become a freeman of Northampton? I have an ancestor James KING who was living in Northampton & to date the only possible James I have found was born at Padbury. Is it likely that in about 1700 someone could become a freeman of a city they were not a native of? Many thanks, Yvonne
Hi Yvonne, The main line of my KING family was in Nash/Whaddon for a couple of generations before I and others have been able to follow some twigs away from this area. The earliest James that I have is 1725 son of Lawrence & Elizabeth KING. He married Elizabeth PHILLIPS in 1750 and was buried in Whaddon 1813 listed as of Drayton Parslow. As this point in time unfortunately I do not have a James KING born 1677 in Padbury.
