There is no male Dennett 16-60 (or Bennett) listed in North Crawley in Feb 1798. Therefore either she was not born to a family there or she is the illegitimate child of a female of that name. However, no pregnant female would be allowed to remain in the parish unless she had a settlement there, which would normally mean other Dennett etc adults living in the village. No Dennett males 16-60 are listed in the whole county, though a number of Bennetts. There is on Dent a few miles from N Crawley.

I may have missed some of this thread, but according to the IGI Sarah, the daughter of Joseph and Ann DENNETT was christened on the 11th November, 1798 at Powerstock, Dorset. Nowhere near North Crawley I know, but might be worth following up. There was a baptism of a Joseph DENNETT on the 19th April 1761 at North Poorton, Dorset but I have not been able to find his possible marriage to an Ann. Maggie.
