HI al I have recently been looking through Wendovers parish baptism and marriage lists for the church of St Mary the Virgin.I have a gap in my ancestry tree that is driving me mad ,and i just wondered if any or you have the info I am desperately looking for . My philip Dell was born in Wendover at about 1795,he married a lady called Elizabeth Hopcraft and they had 6 children .However I have the details of Dell families in Wendover pre 1730 but then a massive gap until 1820.I know Philip died at 39 for I found out that he was buried in Wendover . Does anyone know what happened to the Parish records for this period ,as both the Baptism and marriage lists have this gap.?Anyhow I would love to know who his parents and granparents were .I have checked surrounding churchs and find no record of a Philip Dell ,therefore i have a hunch his family were from Wendover too,and were there i nthe period 1720 to 1800.....Any help or ideas as to where i could look next would be gratefully received.I will be going to Wendover in August to take some photos of the streets and area where i know my ancesters lived ,thus would be in the area for a library search or church search.
