It could also be an 'alias'. We had some discussion on those a while back. Her family could have been known as Marshall alias Steward. For various reasons, some families were in this situation. Children would adopt one name or the other. But I would think that an 'alias' would be evident in the parish register wherever she was baptised, which must be other than Waddesdon. And is it certain that her husband didn't have two wives? Anne Marshall and Anne Steward. I had this happen and never did satisfactorily sort it out.
