I forgot to say that I had searched the 1911 census and cannot find him there.   His brother James's death was registered in 1902 in Wycombe District.   I do not think that John would have left the area. Would anyone, please, have access to the parish registers for Hughenden?   Thank you for reading this. He married Mary Green at St John's, Lacey Green 9 March 1861.   Here is other information that I know about him:   1841 census (mistranscribed as Newborn, not easy to read) age 10, in the Poorhouse, Saunderton.   1851 census Agricultural labourer, age 19, Summerleys, Princes Risborough.   Residence at the time of his marriage was Speen, he was a labourer age 28.   1861 census age 28, with wife Mary and 1-month-old daughter Elizabeth at his sister-in-law Elizabeth Green's home in Speen.   1871 census Labourer, age 37, Mary, age 31, Lacemaker, daughter Elizabeth, age 10, Lacemaker, daughter Ann, age 8, son William, age 6, son Herbert, age 3, daughter Amy, age 1, Kingshill, Hughenden.   On his son Ben's birth certificate (1880), he was a farm labourer. NB Ben is my grandfather.   1881 census Labourer, age 50, Boss Lane, Hughenden, Buckingham, Mary, age 43, Lacemaker, son William Jesse, age 16, Labourer, son Herbert, age 13, Labourer, daughter Amy Mary, age 11, daughter Rose Adelaid, age 8, son Isaac, age 3, son Benjamin, age 10 months.   On the marriage certificate of his daughter Elizabeth to Henry Bugbird in 1889, it was recorded that he was an engine driver.   1891 census Agricultural labourer, age 61, Widmer End, Hughenden, Buckingham, Mary, age 51, son William J, age 26, Chair turner, son Isaac, age 12, son Benjamin, age 10, son Edward J, age 8.   According to the record of his son Will's marriage to Ellen Chilton, in 1893, he was a stoker.   1901 census Farm Ag L, age 71, widowed, Great Kingshill, Hughenden.   On the marriage certificate of his son Ben to Gertrude Sadd in 1911, his profession was stated as engineer and he was 'deceased'.   Thank you for reading this.
