The next meeting of the Buckinghamshire Family History Society Northern Group will take place on Wednesday 4th November. This month's talk is by John Smith who will talk about "Tracking Down Grandfather George". With the surname SMITH you would be rather worried if you were trying to trace a grandfather who had “abandoned” his family. This was the problem faced by John T. SMITH, chairman of Cheddington Historical Society. Due to one piece of good luck and a lot of hard work John eventually broke down his brick wall. His interesting story detailing the resources he used and illustrated with images obtained from a number of sources is the subject of our November meeting “Tracking Down Grandfather George”. Northern Group meeting take place at Methodist Church Hall, Queensway, Bletchley MK2 2HB starting at 19:30 with time to chat before the talk. Directions to the hall are on our website http://www.bucksfhs.org.uk/meetings All members and guests (inc possible new members) are welcome. We also hold monthly meetings at Aylesbury and Bourne End.
