Elizabeth's > Parent: John & Ann Welshman of Fenny Stratford Oddly enough, there are no adult males called Coles or Welshman in Fenny Stratford in 1798. I checked this and found that John Welshman, father of Elizabeth, was buried aged 38 on 1 August 1797. His widow Ann lived till 1828. Four children were baptised in the parish, but it look as if there were at least 3 others born elsewhere. John Coles was not baptised in the parish and no male of that name exists in 1798 (or earlier). He may (or may not) be identical with the John Coles who baptised an infant in Fenny in 1812 and buried him in 1813, but that is the last of the name around - he was not baptised in Bletchley either, or his children. However, it is quite a common name in the vicinity, some of the families having a strong nonconformist link. >
