Hello, I am researching the 1906 marriage of William Harris and Ellen Berry (daughter of Joesph Ward and the widow of Victor Owen Berry). William and Ellen came to Canada along with Ellen's 2 children Beatrice b. 1900 and Lionel b. 1901. Ellen died in 1913 and shortly after Beatrice and Lionel returned to England to live with relatives (probably the Berry or Ward families). Does anyone have any further knowledge of these families? Best regards, Ralph Harris
Hi Ralph UK Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960 > Liverpool, England > 1912 > October > Lake Champlain Both 2nd class arrival 15th Oct 1912 BERRY Lionel Child 11 (last permanent residence) Canada (future intended permanent residence) England BERRY Beatrice 12 (last permanent residence) Canada (future intended permanent residence) England On the same passenger list three above the BERRYs are HARRISON Mary wife 40 HARRISON Maud child 4 HARRISON William Child 2 perhaps just a co-incidence If you check the GRO marriages index for any Lionels or Beatrices (particularly if they have a second name to use as an initial) to see how many married in a reasonable time frame, particularly those marriages in the same area your BERRY / HARRIS / WARD were known to reside It might take a few certificates to get the right one but cannot think of an easier way Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hello, > I am researching the 1906 marriage of William Harris and Ellen Berry > (daughter of Joesph Ward and the widow of Victor Owen Berry).
