Greetings from a new list member My ancestor George LODER was born in London in 1836 (son of Robert and Mary) but his older sister Mary Ann was born in Chesham in 1823. The IGI has an extracted entry for a marriage between Robert LODER and Mary RACKLEY 27 Nov 1821 in Chesham and also one for Mary Rackley bapt 25 June 1797 (Baptist chapel) d/o Ann Rackley. This would fit in nicely with Robert and Mary's first daughter being named Mary Ann. Also, when Robert and Mary had their children bapt in a job lot in 1837, it was at Lady Huntingdon's New Connexion. Am I jumping to conclusions here - or have I struck lucky? I realise that whilst Mary Ann was born in Chesham (or so she thought: census entry), it doesn't mean that her parents were married there. Was Loder a common name in those parts? Should I widen the search for another Robert Loder married to a Mary? Being new to Bucks research, I'd welcome any help/advice. Regards Jackie (South Wales)
